About StyleProfile

We’re building the future of trying before buying

StyleProfile is virtual try-on for fashion ecommerce: shoppers mix tops, bottoms, shoes and bags, and see the whole look rendered on themselves before they order. We are a small team building one thing properly.

A design studio corner: a garment rail, a fabric mood board pinned to the wall, and a work desk by a window.
Four pieces, one look. The mechanic the product is named after.

Why we built this

Ecommerce stopped at add to cart

Online retail got very good at everything up to the add-to-cart button, then stopped. Search improved. Checkout went from six steps to one. The part where a shopper works out whether something suits them has barely moved in twenty years.

Ecommerce copied the shelf, the till and the receipt. It never copied the fitting room — and the fitting room is not a nice extra, it is the mechanism.

That is the layer we build: real garments rendered on a real shopper, on the retailer’s own product page. The whole outfit, because that is how people dress.

We are opinionated about what a good render is for. Try-on that flatters everything is a returns problem in a nicer coat. If a garment sits badly, the picture should show it sitting badly.

What we make

Four pieces, one look

The mechanic the product is named after: a shopper picks a top, a bottom, shoes and a bag, and sees all four rendered together on one body. That is the whole idea, and everything else on this site is in service of it.

What we believe

Three things we build against

Not values on a wall. These are the arguments we actually have when we decide what ships.

  • 01

The outfit is the unit, not the SKU

Retailers merchandise in looks and shoppers buy in looks. Software insists on rows in a product table. We build for the look.

  • 02

    Proof over promises

The demo is the pitch. Every claim here can be tested in a browser before anyone speaks to us, and every figure we cite is named. No case studies yet, so we say so.

  • 03

    Fewer boxes shipped back

A parcel that goes out, comes back and is written off is bad for margin and for everything the freight touched. Doing less of that is not a campaign. It is the product working.
