Try-on-enabled SKU
A try-on-enabled SKU is a product that has been prepared for virtual try-on: categorised correctly, with a usable product image and any size data mapped. Retailers usually enable a subset of the catalogue first, since try-on volume — not catalogue size — is what pricing is based on.
Enabling a SKU is mostly a data-quality exercise. The common blockers are a product type used as a merchandising label rather than a taxonomy, colourways sharing a single photograph, and primary images that crop the garment or bury it in a lifestyle scene.
Choosing which SKUs to enable first is a commercial decision. The most informative starting set is the overlap between best sellers, which supply the traffic, and the products with the highest returned-unit counts, which supply the problem worth solving.
