Product detail page (PDP)
A product detail page, or PDP, is the page for a single product: images, description, price, variants and the add-to-cart control. It is where nearly every purchase decision in ecommerce is made, and therefore where features that reduce uncertainty have to live.
Placement on a PDP is a real variable, not a detail. A try-on entry point beside the size selector sits where the hesitation is; the same control inside the image gallery reads as another photograph and gets scrolled past.
The PDP is also where the technical constraints bite. Anything added here has to load quickly, work on a phone, and never take the shopper off the page — a feature that redirects loses the session and the cart along with it.
