Fit engine
A fit engine is the component that models how a garment will sit on a body. It combines garment measurements, fabric behaviour and body data to produce a fit assessment — the size to order, and often where a piece will run tight or loose.
A fit engine is doing something narrower than a render. The render answers how a garment looks; the fit engine answers whether the numbers work — chest, waist, hip, rise, inseam — and how much ease the fabric provides at each of those points.
The two are most useful together, in the same panel. A shopper looking at a convincing render still has to choose a size, and a size suggestion with no picture attached is a claim they have no way to sanity-check.
