Size recommendation engine
A size recommendation engine suggests which size a specific shopper should order in a specific garment. It compares what it knows about the shopper — stated measurements, past purchases, sizes kept and returned — with the garment’s own measurements, and returns a size rather than a chart.
The difference from a size chart is who does the work. A chart publishes garment measurements and asks the shopper to measure themselves and interpret the result; an engine performs that comparison and states an answer at the point of decision, which is where the hesitation actually is.
Recommendation quality depends almost entirely on input quality. Per-garment measurements beat a brand-level chart, and a signal about what the shopper has kept or returned before beats a self-reported measurement, because people estimate their own bodies generously and consistently.
